Passover/Easter Retreat

This retreat will bring the participants to a new, challenging experience and understanding of the Passover/Easter observance. The first day will bring the participants to face, examine and alter the ways in which they create a state of slavery in their own lives. As a part of and vehicle to that examination, there will be a celebration of the Passover meal according to the Jewish tradition similar to the one that Jesus himself celebrated on the night before he died. On the second day, the day of the crucifixion, the participants will spend the day contemplating how the powers of darkness crucify their God-good being just as they crucified Jesus, the Son of God and what they must die to in order to live in God's light. The third day, the day in the tomb, is the day in which the participants appraise themselves of what needs to change in their lives to transform them from living dead-ness into the life of the Resurrection. The fourth day is a celebration of the Resurrection that God gives and wishes for us all.

The retreat begins at 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. At 6 p.m. we celebrate the Passover meal (Seder) as a separate ceremony. Even if you are not able to be with us for the entire weekend, we invite you to celebrate Seder with us. Participants bring a dish to share for this joyous meal. The workshop ends at 12 noon on Sunday.

Check our Upcoming Events area for workshop dates.
