Uniqueness In-Depth Psycho-Therapy The Shape Of The Wounds We must begin by understanding that we exist in two worlds that often contradict each other. There is the world of my consciousness and the inner world of my unconsciousness. In my conscious world, I know I am ok the way I am. The wounds and the scars that are left behind from my developmental time exist in a very different world, the unconscious world. It is here these wounds fester, well up and make themselves known to us at the most inopportune, inconvenient, and confusing times. It is in this inner space that the lost parts of us have a very different belief about who I am and what the world is all about. This is the inner place we are talking about and needs to be healed. The wounds each of us received during our growing up time manifest themselves in various ways that differ from person to person. There are four categories in which they take shape: attitudinal, emotional, behavioral and relational. Attitudinal | Emotional
